Surface To Air = Cooler To Coolest

Practical and righteous? That’s the stuff a New Yorker's dreams are made of…

Surface to Air?
More like Cooler to Coolest.

That cool, eh?

Red leather leggings – Cross Leggings V1 ($231). Need more be said?

The mostest pant hue of the season, fabricated in the world’s coolest fabric? Genius.
Agreed. In fact Surface to Air is a one-stop shop for all things cool. The line is finely curated, each piece served with an understated side of thoughtful quirk. Several versions of each design exist, distinguished with a V1, V2, etc. after the names. The line is straightforward, but not straight-edge, heck no. There are plenty of options, but not so many to overwhelm the Naag reader’s tasteful sensibilities.

We like to not be overwhelmed… but what else?

The shoes.

Shoes? Now you’ve got our undivided attention.
Surface to Air has hit that elusive sweet spot, somehow balancing practical with cool. We especially love their Ankle Snow Boots V1 ($264). These boots beg you to trudge through snow while still maintaining your essential righteousness, necessary if you’re a stylish New Yorker.

Hear, hear! Their dresses are also worth mention. The Simple Dress V2 ($276) is so perfectly cut we cringe to call it a “T-shirt dress”, a term that makes us start snoring before we even finish saying it. But the Simple Dress is a T-shirt dress that will hit your thighs just so, even if you’re not 8’10’’. So basically you won’t look comically short and stubby in it, which is key to rocking this particularly genre of dress if you’re of average to petite (read: normal girl) build.

What about rappers?

How did you know?!

We looked at the website.
So, Smarty McSmarterson, then you already know it would be a tragedy not to mention the Kid Cudi Champs Jacket ($1,220). Designed in collaboration with rapper ingénue Kid Cudi, this leather jacket was inspired by Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Some big shoes to fill, it does not disappoint. We’re not always too keen on actors/musicians cum designers, however this combination was made in ’80s MTV heaven. One word: thrilled. (Couldn’t resist)
